​Bucket Two - solids

Supplies: Bucket, trash bag, pool noodle, toilet paper & carbon materials - dried leaves or shredded paper

Mixing urine and solid waste causes a much worse smell and creates disposal issues.

  • Close off the warmest rooms, blocking the crack under the door.
  • Open windows to allow cooler air to circulate.  Close windows before temperatures rise.  Close blinds.
  • If your windows must be opened, hand wet sheets in front of openings.  This approach to cooling dates back to the early Egyptians.  
  • Use a damp sheet at night will keep you cool as the moisture evaporates.
  • Wear loose fitting, light-weight clothing.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Use a spray bottle on the mist setting to spray yourself.

Add cat litter to the bottom to absorb liquid and help with odor.  All paper should go in the "solids" bucket.
